August Update

Hello everyone, hope you're having a positively shrimpy day! Thought I should give you all a monthly update. I haven't been very active due to a lot of personal life changes including getting married and starting a brand new job which required me to put the shrimp stuff to the side for a minute. I do have updates though.

First and foremost, as you can see in the picture, more white sock babies are arriving! I have sadly not seen any of the adults in the new tank but this is precisely why I kept some in the 3 gallon. However, I have seen two berried snow zebra's in that tank which is also pretty cool. I did reach out to the website I bought them from and got them to change the language on their page to properly reflect their true origins.

Secondly, I am in the slow process of setting up a rack system. I was generously gifted a small quantity of old breeder tanks from a friend that just need to be cleaned out. I am also still deciding on the kind of filtration and whatnot.

In other news, I've made the executive decision to expand my collection of shrimps offered to include "exotic" varieties of neocaridina. To put it frankly, it isn't feasible at this moment to solely keep, breed, and sell Sulawesi shrimp. Relying on the continued success and propagation of such sensitive specimens at this time is a unnecessarily stressful endeavor and to put that kind of pressure on myself and these shrimp isn't fair. So I'm branching out.

Which kinds of neocaridina I will get is still up for debate so if there is a particular type you'd like to vouch for please let me know through the contact form. I do not see the point in offering shrimp you can more easily and cheaply get from your local aquarium store. I do not have the space nor resources to compete with them. The only solid color neocaridina I am considering at this time is show grade cherry shrimp.

Thank you for taking the time to read my update and please bear with me during this slow setup phase. I'll be showing them off at expos before you know it.

Also, my website blog is having some trouble with pictures. I am aware of the issue and trying to troubleshoot.
